Grassroot Women Convention

The grassroot women convention typically refers to a gathering or conference, organized by and for women at the grassroot level. These conventions aim to provide a platform for women from marginalized communities, often from rural and urban areas, to come together, share experiences discuss issues affecting their lives and strategize for collective action. The grassroot women convention arises from the need to amplify the voices and address the concerns of women who are often marginalize or excluded from decision making processes. This convention is rooted in the principles of empowerment, gender equality and social justice.

Grassroot Women Convention was one of the buildup activities organized by MPI-Kenya ahead of the International Women's Day which will be held on 8th March 2024.The convention was a success as many women came out and used the platform effectively to air out issues that affect them.

In the convention, we were able to empower the women on ways to build themselves, educate them on their rights and point out the injustices that they should be aware of. The women were also told the places where they could seek help from in case of any injustices they might encounter in their homes and community at large.
